Thursday’s Homework: 10/2/14


9th Grade U.S. & World History Standard:
  1. Read pages 24 to page 27 (STOP @ “Portugal Leads the Way”) of the textbook. 10 to 18 Key Points or THIS GRAPHIC ORGANIZER on page 32 of the notebook.  
  2. Summary OR Reflection on page 33 of the notebook. 
9th Grade U.S. & World History Honors:
  1. Read and annotate the second part of Chapter 1 of the Bomb and complete the second EVIDENCE SHEET by TOMORROW (Friday at the beginning of class)
  2. Post at least one question that you have about the reading or major concepts on turnitin.com by tonight by 11:59PM (THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL).
  3.  Read pages 24 to page 27 (STOP @ “Portugal Leads the Way”) of the textbook. 10 to 18 Key Points or THIS GRAPHIC ORGANIZER on page 28 of the notebook.   

12th Grade We & They:



1. How are Zinn’s description of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan similar and different to his description of the bombing of Royan, France?  Explain and refer to the reading (I need evidence/quotes)


2. At first Zinn appears pessimistic about the possibility of peace in the past, present and future. According to ZInn, how does “the odd perversion of the natural that we call society” and the “division of labor” of the “mass production of massive evil” contribute to war and lack of resistance to war? Explain and refer to the reading.

HW:

1. This is due on Monday (PAGE 22 of the notebook)
2. I will create the peer editing assignment today and it is due on Sunday by 11:59PM (NO LATE WORK)
3. The first draft will be due on Wednesday, 10/8/14 by 11:59PM
4. The second peer editing will be due by Sunday 10/12/14 by 11:59PM
5. The final draft will be dur on Thursday, October 16th by 11:59PM
