Friday's Homework: 4/26/19

ALL STUDENTS:

There will be the first Do Now Quiz of term 4 on Monday from pages 7 and 11.

 RESEARCH PAPER STUDENTS:

I am extending the deadline for Step 4 until Monday night on turnitin.com  You need at least 10 quotes and/or paraphrases

A. YOU MUST USE THE PROVIDED GRAPHIC ORGANIZER
B. Make sure to not just write a quote but complete as much of the questions in columns 2 and 3.
C. You must give internal citations and a works cited entry for every quote/paraphrase (if the quote/paraphrase comes from the same source you can write "same" for the above works cited entry, but you must give specific internal citations).

Internal Citations:

Books: Author's Last name and page number in parenthesis, such as (Nash 24) or (Zinn 145)

Website: The Website name, not the URL:

For example: www.whosehistory.blogspot.com should be (Whose History)

https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/26/us/colorado-lakewood-i-70-fiery-crash/index.html should be (CNN)

https://www2.bostonglobe.com/metro/obituaries/2019/04/25/john-havlicek-one-greatest-celtics-ever-dies/Dwh59K8YIZO9PZ0b3lMQ7J/story.html  should be (Boston Globe)

 BOOK PROJECT STUDENTS:

You need at least 10 quotes and/or paraphrases., but your assignment is due tonight (FRIDAY) on turnitin.com

See above explanation for A, B & C

For Internal Citations just write (Zinn)
For works cited entry you only need to do it once

You also need to answer the 3 questions for reflection (1-2 pages, 12 Times New Roman, Doubled Space) IN THE SAME DOCUMENT AS THE EVIDENCE SHEET GRAPHIC ORGANIZER:

1.What new information did I learn from this reading? Explain.
2.How can we use this information in our book? Explain.

3.How do I envision this book (Mr.Pitts-Dilley is thinking about a book with an introduction about who we are and why we are doing this, followed by 5 chapters based on our sub groups, followed by a special session on what educators and students can do to change the narrative of lies and omissions about teaching about Native Americans)?  Explain (and you can choose a different format-IT IS YOUR BOOK).
