Tuesday's Homework: 1/10/17

Please read the following article and on page 53 Standard/43 Honors take 10-15 key points (no graphic organizer).  On page 54 Standard/44 Honors, answer the following questions:

1. In your opinion, what would a teacher and a course have to teach in order to “promote resentment toward any race or class”? Explain.
2. According to the reading what are the benefits of ethnic studies (the study of the history and culture of an specific group of people based on race or ethnicity) and Hip-Hop classes to the students?  What other benefits would you expect students to experience by taking these courses? Explain.
3. In your opinion, should any state be able to ban courses in high schools, since it provides districts with funding? Why or why not? Defend your position.
