THE STANDARD PAPER
IS DUE TONIGHT BY 11:59PM and it counts (just the final draft) for 20% of the
term grade! PLEASE TAKE CARE OF
BUSINESS!
IMPORTANT
REMINDERS:
PAPER DIRECTIONS:
USING
QUOTES/PARAPHRASES (NOT REQUIRED):
Please remember that if you want to use quotes or
paraphrases (use information from a website or reading and then re-write it
using your own words) then can only come from the textbook or handouts. This is not a research paper and if you do
this in the final draft, you will be penalized for doing so.
If you used a
handout:
The internal citation is the title of the handout in
parenthesis after the quote with no page number.
The works cited entry is:
Multiple. "Pitts-Dilley Handouts." Handouts. John
D. O'Bryant School of Mathematics & Science, Roxbury. 1 Nov. 2015. Reading.
If you used the
textbook:
The internal citation is the author’s last name with page
number in parenthesis without using the word “page” and “,”) after the quote or
paraphrase. For example: (Boyer 54).
The works cited entry is:
Boyer, Paul S. The American Nation. Austin: Holt,
Rinehart, and Winston, 2001. Print.
PLAGIARISM:
6 of you copied and pasted work from websites into your first
drafts. If you do that again in the
final draft you will at least receive a zero (0) for the final draft and you
may in addition receive a zero for the entire term. This is plagiarism and Mr. Spargo and I wrote
this on your first draft papers.
Remember that you are not allowed to use, even if you cite, sources
outside of the textbook and handouts.
Just make sure to have picked topics that you know about!
Font &
Spacing:
This and every paper, 12 Times New Roman, Doubled Space.
