  1. Everyone: Read and Annotate Zinn’s introduction to the Columbus and De Las Cases writings and answer the two following questions

  1. What do you think that Howard Zinn means by "Columbus’ arrival in the Caribbean was an invasion of a very old world, not the discovery of a “New World.”? Explain.
  2. Do you think it is “inevitable” that the writing of history take sides? Explain.

CLASS WORK: PG 52 STANDARD, 42 HONORS

PROSECUTION/DEFENSE:


  1. Get in groups
  2. Using a Google Doc to be printed later or writing in the notebook, look for 3 to 5 pieces of evidences from both yesterday’s and today Columbus Diaries (Part 1 and Part 2) on page 52 of the notebook.
