1. We will have our first notebook check of the 3rd term on the Monday that we come back from vacation (ALL PAGES from term 3 including the Table of Contents will be checked)
2. The turnitin.com reflection piece for the 1st formative is due by Friday night by 11:59PM on turnitin.com (ABSOLUTELY NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED). More information below:
Many students seemed to be confused. Basically, this turnitin.com assignment is a reflection assignment from the first formative that you did on 9/30/16 (read what you wrote, any comments that I wrote, the rubric score and answer these questions... IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE 4 STUDENTS WHO NEVER DID THIS, YOU HAVE TO WRITE the 3 paragraph essay instead. CLICK HERE FOR THE DIRECTIONS, SOURCES AND GUIDELINE)
THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS THAT YOU MUST ANSWER (#1, #2, etc… and not in essay form):
- Overall, what do you think were your strengths and weaknesses? What can you do better next time? Explain.
- What was your claim/thesis (did you actually REALLY answered the question that was assigned)? How could you rewrite your claim/thesis to get the full point? Explain.
- In your introduction, did you paint the background of the Middle Ages and the changes that were taking place that led for more trade? If you did, was there anything you could have added or subtracted (it is only a 3 paragraph essay)? If you didn’t what could you have added? Explain.
- In your body paragraphs, did you connect the evidence (quotes/paraphrase) that you chose to your claim (or were they just randomly chosen)? What could you have done better? Be specific and explain [the point of using evidence is to prove what you are trying to say (claim/thesis)].
- Did your conclusion connect to your claim/thesis? If so, how? If not, what could you have done better?
HONORS STUDENTS:
I am not assigning vacation homework from chapter 5 of A People's History of the United States, but once we come back, the workload will pick up!
