Virginia Rebellion of 1705 Role Play Results

Period 1:

Indentured Servants: 3 Revolted, 1 did not
Frontiersmen: All 3 Revolted
Poor Farmers: All 7 Revolted
Free Blacks: Both (2) Revolted
Slaves: 1 Revolted, 1 did not
Native Americans: Both (2) Revolted

Total:  18 Revolted and 2 did not and all 6 groups agreed to join forces versus the Rich Colonists and the Colonial Government.

Period 4:

Indentured Servants: 4 Revolted, 0 did not
Frontiersmen:  4 Revolted, 0 did not
Poor Farmers:  10 Revolted, 0 did not
Free Blacks:  2 Revolted, 0 did not
Slaves:  2 Revolted, 0 did not
Native Americans:  2 Revolted, 0 did not, 1 chose to remain neutral of both sides.

Total: 24 Revolted against both groups 7-8, although group 7 asked to join them to fight group 8.  1 native did not want to take sides as she saw both groups as enemies.

Period 5:

Indentured Servants: 3 Revolted, 0 did not
Frontiersmen: 2 Revolted, 0 did not
Poor Farmers: 7 Revolted, 0 did not
Free Blacks: 3 Revolted, 0 did not
Slaves: 5 Revolted, 0 did not
Native Americans: Both (2) chose to be neutral as they did not trust/like any of the two sides.

Total: 20 Revolted against both groups 7-8, although group 7 asked to join them to fight group 8.  Both natives did not want to take sides as she saw both groups as enemies.

Period 6:

Indentured Servants: 0 Revolted, 3 did not 
Frontiersmen: 2 Revolted against group 8 only, 1 revolted against both groups 7 and 8 
Poor Farmers: 7 Revolted, 0 did not 
Free Blacks: 2 Revolted, 0 did not 
Slaves: 2 Revolted, 0 did not 
Native Americans: Both (2) chose to remain neutral as they saw both groups as enemies.

Total:  11 out of 17 students would have joined the rebellion vs both 7-8.  2 out of 17 students wanted to join group 7 in a revolt vs. group 8.  5 of 17 students did not want to join any rebellion.
