ALL STUDENTS:
Sorry for the last minute notice, but my daughter may have an ear infection and I need to take care to the doctors (think about the millions of Americans who do not get paid sick time out and they have to choose between taking care of their children and paying rent),
CLASSWORK:
I don't want to give you busy work, so please use this time seriously to work on your research paper. By now, I have ALL of the books, but you will have to wait until Monday to get additional copies (for those waiting on Lies My Teacher Told Me, you can download the book for free if you have a Boston Library Card).
1. Work on your graphic organizers (you may use my computers to print them or your cell phones to use your Google Docs). For those who want to work ahead, you can also look for online credible sources (the 3rd Graphic Organizer).
A. Quotes
B. Paraphrases
C. Steps Timeline
2. Work on your outlines (bring a copy of your outlines to me and deliver them in the form that was requested by your English teacher***)
3. Prepare for the debates on Monday (unless we have a snow day) [religion vs. science and philosophy and human nature as good (Locke, democracy, gov't of the people, by the people and to the people) or "evil" (Thomas Hobbes, Social Contract, we need a dictator/king/emperor to keep us under control)]. Not dressing up =25% penalty.
4. I am moving the Black Patriots vs. Black Loyalists debate to Tuesday. Not dressing up =25% penalty.
5. If the substitute teacher tells me that individuals were not cooperating and not acting like exam school students who want to go to a great 4 year college (you should not go to a Community College if you go to the O'Bryant or someplace like Trump University), you may receive an F for conduct and I will give you a 0 for term participation.
P.S. Students who have 10th grade English classes should follow this outline:

SUPER P.S. THANKS FOR ALL OF YOU WHO HELPED WITH DONATIONS (FOOD AND MONEY), VOLUNTEERING AND BUYING AT THE BAKE SALE! We raised $450! Because of your kind spirits 30 young Haitian-Dominican children will have the ability to go to a "school" for two additional months and one teacher will have the ability to further provide for his wife and children. THANK YOU!
