Thursday’s Homework: 9/25/14

9th Grade U.S. & World History Standard:

Work on you poster project.  I have extended the deadline until Tuesday at the beginning of class, but 1 minute late equals to 1 day late and you shouldn’t wait until the last minute to work on your poster.

Hints:

1. For the questions that need to be answered and placed near (not on) specific locations use your textbook and/or a search engine for the information.  I also recommend that you type and then this assignment can be divided (make everyone accountable for the work).

2. The map has to be big!

3. The sea routes need to go via the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific (it was Columbus plan) Oceans.

4. THIS POSTER NEEDS TO BE CREATIVE!  A BLANK WORLD GRID WITH LOCATIONS AND INFO WILL NOT GIVE YOU AN “A”. BE CREATIVE!

9th Grade U.S. & World History Honors:

Work on your evidence sheet for the first part of Zinn’s Chapter 1 of the Bomb: Hiroshima, Breaking the silence, which is due on Monday.  The reason why I am giving you so much time is because I want you to read it slowly to look for quotes that match your position and that if you read something that you do not understand such as a historical analogy by Zinn (you might not know the event and what Zinn is trying to compare), then you can do some research or ask me questions.

If you have questions about the reading for me, post them on the discussion assignment for Turnitin.com and each of you is expected to ask at least one question by Sunday night by 11:59PM.

On Monday, I will give you the second part of chapter 1 and on Wednesday the 2nd chapter.  We will begin writing the introduction to the term paper next week and it will be due on Turnitin.com by Monday, October 6th.

P.S. I will assign a reading about Genghis Khan tomorrow for homework, so work on your evidence sheet today!

Evidence Sheet 1: The Bomb Chapter 1 Part 1

12th Grade We & They:

The introduction (first paragraph, hook, thesis/claim, etc) to your term paper is due on turnitin.com by Sunday night by 11:59PM.

P.S. I will give you the second part of chapter 1 (The Bomb: Hiroshima, Breaking the Silence) tomorrow.
